Yasunao Tone is a Japanese-American multidisciplinary artist and composer who was a founding member of Group Ongaku and the Japanese branch of Fluxus. He is widely recognized as a pioneer of "glitch" music, particularly for his "prepared" or "wounded CD" works in which he physically manipulated discs to override error-correction systems and produce unpredictable soundscapes. Tone relocated to the United States in 1972 and has collaborated with figures such as Merce Cunningham and George Maciunas.
