Louise Giovanelli is a British contemporary painter known for her luminous and layered oil paintings that explore the intersection of art history, film, and religious iconography. She earned her BA from Manchester School of Art in 2015 and her MA from the Städelschule in Frankfurt am Main in 2020. Her work often focuses on textures, light, and the framing of subjects, drawing from varied sources like archival photography and early Renaissance paintings. She has exhibited internationally, including solo shows at Grimm Gallery and White Cube.
