DESCRIPTION

Judy Ledgerwood is an American abstract painter based in Chicago. She earned her MFA from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago and is a professor at Northwestern University. Her work challenges the traditions of high-modernist abstraction by incorporating feminine-coded colors, decorative patterns, and motifs inspired by fiber arts and goddess cultures.
