Gio Swaby is a Bahamian interdisciplinary artist based in Toronto whose textile portraits and silhouettes celebrate Black womanhood and self-expression. Her work, often described as a love letter to Black women, is held in the collections of the Art Institute of Chicago and the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston.
