Born in Bethlehem, Jacir is a conceptual artist whose work explores themes of displacement, exile, and the movement of people across borders, particularly in the Palestinian context. She was awarded the Golden Lion at the 2007 Venice Biennale and the Hugo Boss Prize in 2008.
