Julia Jo is a South Korean-born, Brooklyn-based painter who works primarily in large-scale oil compositions that oscillate between figuration and abstraction. Her paintings investigate the psychological turmoil and miscommunications inherent in interpersonal relationships. Jo received her MFA from Parsons School of Design in 2019 and her BFA from Smith College in 2016.
