Maggie Ellis is an American artist based in New York whose work serves as an anthropological observation of urban public life. Working often from memory, she creates expressive and sometimes comedic or grotesque depictions of crowds and public interactions. Ellis received her MFA from Hunter College in 2017 and her BFA from the Savannah College of Art and Design in 2014.
