Josef Albers was a highly influential artist and educator known for his exploration of color relationships. After studying and teaching at the Bauhaus in Germany, he emigrated to the United States in 1933. He taught at Black Mountain College and Yale University, and is most famous for his series Homage to the Square and his book Interaction of Color.
