Robert Longo is an American artist associated with the Pictures Generation. He gained international fame in the 1980s for his large-scale photorealistic charcoal drawings, most notably the Men in the Cities series which depicts well-dressed figures in contorted, cinematic poses. His work often addresses power, authority, and mass media.
