DESCRIPTION
Shani Strand is a multidisciplinary artist born in New York and based in Los Angeles and New York. Her work explores themes of ungovernability, Caribbean architecture, and the intersections of post-colonial history through sculpture, film, and immersive installations. She is a co-founder of Sucking Salt, a project dedicated to archiving Caribbean aesthetics. Strand received her MFA from UCLA in 2023.
