Jenny Brosinski is a contemporary German artist known for her minimalist, abstract paintings that emphasize the raw materiality of the canvas. Born in Celle, she studied at the École supérieure des arts décoratifs de Strasbourg and the Weissensee Academy of Art Berlin, where she completed her Meisterschüler postgraduate degree in 2012. Her work, often described as 'dirty minimalism,' involves a process of both creation and deconstruction, utilizing materials such as oil, acrylic, charcoal, and spray paint on unprimed surfaces. Her practice is characterized by spontaneous gestures, playful text fragments, and an aesthetic of incompleteness. Brosinski lives and works in Berlin.
