John Ahearn is an American sculptor based in New York City. He is widely recognized for his lifecasting projects in the South Bronx, which he began in the late 1970s. Often collaborating with Rigoberto Torres, Ahearn creates painted plaster and bronze portraits that capture the spirit and diversity of neighborhood residents, turning them into public monuments.
