Born in Handan, China, Liya Du is a visual artist and mother whose work explores the reconciliation of art and domestic life. She earned a BFA from the Tianjin Academy of Fine Arts and an MFA from the Venice Academy of Fine Arts in Italy. Currently based in Milwaukee, her practice examines themes of motherhood, domestic labor, and memory through painting, drawing, and installation.
