Kites, Textiles, and Performance
Hai-Wen Lin is a Chicago-based interdisciplinary artist whose practice explores constructions of the body and its relationship to the environment. They earned a Master of Design in Fashion, Body and Garment from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago in 2023. Lin is well known for creating wearable kites and textile structures that engage with wind, sun, and flight, and they were awarded the 2025 Burke Prize for contemporary craft.
