Michael Joo is a Korean-American conceptual artist whose multi-disciplinary practice bridges scientific research and artistic production. Using diverse and unexpected materials such as human sweat, silver nitrate, bamboo, and antlers, Joo explores themes of perception, identity, and the natural environment. He represented South Korea at the 49th Venice Biennale in 2001.
