Morris Barazani was an abstract painter and educator who was a central figure in the Chicago art scene for over half a century. He studied at the Institute of Design under László Moholy-Nagy and at the Cranbrook Academy of Art. Barazani was a founding member of the 10th Street galleries in New York in the 1950s and later became the director of the School of Art and Design at the University of Illinois at Chicago.
