Printmaking and Illustration
Lya Finston is a Chicago-based printmaker and educator originally from Brooklyn, New York. She received her BA from Oberlin College and an MFA in Printmaking from the University of Iowa. Her work is inspired by folklore, historical hoaxes, and Jewish ceremonial art, utilizing media such as stone lithography and animation to explore themes of superstition and the aesthetics of truth in printed matter.
