Adeshola Makinde is a Nigerian-American artist based in Chicago whose multidisciplinary practice explores Black consciousness and social justice. Utilizing archival imagery from historic publications like Ebony and Jet, Makinde creates collages and prints that challenge racial inequities and investigate the nuances of identity-building within the Black American experience. His work has been exhibited at institutions and galleries including Anthony Gallery and Playground Detroit.
