Wolfgang Tillmans is a German photographer and visual artist. In 2000, he became the first non-British artist to win the Turner Prize. His work ranges from portraits and landscapes to abstract images created in the darkroom without a camera, often exploring social activism and the physical properties of the photographic medium.
