Kai Althoff is a German multimedia artist and musician born in Cologne. He is recognized for his diverse and evocative body of work that includes figurative paintings, drawings, and immersive installations that often blend historical references with personal narratives. Althoff gained significant international attention with exhibitions at major institutions, including a comprehensive retrospective titled 'Kai Althoff: and then leave me to the common swifts' at the Museum of Modern Art in 2016. He was also a founding member of the experimental pop band Workshop.
