Paul Klee was a prolific Swiss-German artist whose work was influenced by Expressionism, Cubism, and Surrealism. A natural draftsman, Klee experimented with and eventually mastered color theory, which he taught at the Bauhaus school of art, design, and architecture. His diverse body of work is noted for its dry humor, childlike perspective, and personal allusions.
