DESCRIPTION
Gabriel Hartley is a London-based artist whose practice treats painting in a sculptural way. His canvases are characterized by layers of oil and spray paint that are scratched and scraped away to reveal underlying compositions, investigating the tension between surface, depth, and the materiality of the medium.
