Painting
An English painter of the Victorian era, Dadd is famous for his intricately detailed depictions of fairies and mythological scenes. His career was drastically altered by a psychotic break in 1843, after which he was confined to Bethlem and Broadmoor hospitals. He continued to create complex, obsessively detailed works during his decades of institutionalization.
