Charles Angrand was a French painter and draughtsman who gained renown for his Neo-Impressionist works. A founding member of the Societe des Artistes Independants, he was a vital figure in the Parisian avant-garde. Influenced by Georges Seurat and Paul Signac, Angrand adopted pointillist techniques, later developing a unique divisionist style with larger brushstrokes and intense colors. He was also celebrated for his masterful black-and-white Conte crayon drawings.
