DESCRIPTION
Emmanuel Awuni was born in Accra, Ghana, and works in London. His practice mobilizes diasporic traditions such as hip-hop, jazz, and African oral history to question systems of power and hierarchy. He frequently reconfigures found objects and cast busts within blue packing foam, meditating on cultural biases and spiritual potential. He is a graduate of Goldsmiths and the Royal Academy Schools.
