Valerie Asiimwe Amani is a Tanzanian artist and writer based in the UK. Her multidisciplinary practice explores themes of belonging, memory, and the intersection of body, language, and myth. She has won numerous awards including the 2023 Foundwork Art Prize and the 2022 Ingram Prize. Amani holds an MFA from The Ruskin School of Art and is currently pursuing a DPhil at the University of Oxford.
