DESCRIPTION
Born in Ulanhot, Inner Mongolia, and a member of the 'Cold Ink' group, Yu Yang is known for his 'Ink Objects.' His practice involves a minimalist deconstruction of the ink medium, often using painted wooden stripes and layered paper to create checkerboard patterns that explore the tension between two-dimensional surfaces and three-dimensional spatiality.
