Born in Tehran and based in Montreal, Abbas Akhavan's practice explores the domestic sphere as a site of both hospitality and hostility. His site-specific installations, sculptures, and performances are deeply influenced by the architectures, ecologies, and geopolitical histories of the locations where he works.
