Osvaldo Ramirez Castillo was born in El Salvador and immigrated to Canada at age 11. His multi-disciplinary practice is concerned with collective memory, historical trauma, and identity within a global context, often drawing upon Salvadoran popular folklore and iconography. He received his MFA from Concordia University and has been a recipient of the Pollock-Krasner Foundation Grant.
