Sir Peter Paul Rubens was a Flemish artist and diplomat of the 17th century. A leading figure in the Baroque tradition, he was known for his highly dynamic and expressive style, producing numerous religious, mythological, and history paintings. He also ran a large workshop in Antwerp and served as a diplomat for European royalty.
