Tau Lewis is a self-taught artist whose practice involves the labor-intensive hand-sewing of found and repurposed materials into monumental sculptures. Her work explores Black identity, ancestry, and the concept of the 'talismanic' object, often taking the form of masks or otherworldly figures.
