Wire sculpture
Ruth Asawa was a sculptor celebrated for her intricate, looped-wire sculptures that transformed metal into weightless, transparent forms. Educated at Black Mountain College under Josef Albers, she was also a dedicated arts activist who helped establish public arts education programs in San Francisco.
