Born in Nanchang, China, Mingkai He is a contemporary artist based in Shanghai. He received his B.A. from Capital Normal University in Beijing and an M.A. in Painting from the Royal College of Art in London. His practice explores the dynamic interplay between world history and personal memory, using painting to dismantle historical imagery and transform it into signifiers of metaphysical plasticity.
