Architecture and Decorative Arts
Josef Hoffmann was an Austrian architect and designer who was a central figure in the Vienna Secession and a co-founder of the Wiener Werkstätte in 1903. Known for his use of geometric clarity and grid-like patterns, his work embraced the concept of the 'Gesamtkunstwerk' (total work of art), famously realized in projects like the Palais Stoclet in Brussels and the Purkersdorf Sanatorium.
