Sofia Borges is a Brazilian visual artist based in São Paulo and Paris. Her work uses the photographic medium to explore philosophical questions of representation, artifice, and mimesis, frequently drawing from museum archives and archaeological sites. In 2016, she won the MACK First Book Award for her publication 'The Swamp.' She also served as a curator for the 33rd São Paulo Biennial in 2018.
