Urs Frei (1958–2023) was a Swiss artist known for his improvisational and minimalist approach to object art and painting. Utilizing simple, everyday materials and packaging waste, his work deconstructs the processes of artistic creation and presentation. He gained international recognition in the 1990s and represented Switzerland at the 1997 Venice Biennale.
