DESCRIPTION
John Monks is a prominent British figurative painter who specializes in large-scale oils of architectural interiors. His work focuses on the effects of light, shadow, and decay within grand, abandoned spaces, using a heavily impastoed technique to build layers of texture that evoke a sense of history and transience.
