DESCRIPTION

Caroline Denervaud is a Swiss artist born in 1978 in Lausanne, currently living and working in Paris. Her artistic practice is a hybrid of performance, painting, and video, rooted in her background in contemporary and classical dance from the Laban Centre in London. She also studied fine arts at the École des Beaux-Arts in Paris and fashion design at Studio Berçot. Denervaud uses her body and improvised movements as primary tools to leave physical traces on canvas, often employing casein, charcoal, or ink to translate non-verbal, emotional experiences into abstract visual compositions. Her work has been exhibited in major cities worldwide, including New York, Paris, London, and Seoul.
