DESCRIPTION

Armand Avril was a self-taught French painter and sculptor born in Lyon. He is best known for his 'montages'—assemblages made of champagne corks, wooden crates, and other found objects. Deeply influenced by his collection of African and tribal art, his work often features themes of play, sacrality, and memory. He lived and worked in Cotignac until his death in November 2025.
