Kokou Ferdinand Makouvia is a Togolese artist based in Paris and Amsterdam. Born in Lomé, his practice focuses on the relationship between the body and matter, utilizing materials such as wood, copper, rubber, and ceramics. His work is heavily influenced by his native Mina culture and explores the metaphysical and spiritual properties of the objects and materials he employs. He was the recipient of the Révélation ADAGP prize in 2017.
