Farida Hamak is a photographer born in Algeria who moved to France in 1956. She began her career as a war reporter in the 1980s, working for agencies like Viva and Sipa Press to document conflicts in Lebanon, Syria, and Iraq. She is the co-director of Galerie Regard Sud in Lyon.
