Jacob Jordaens was one of the three leading Flemish Baroque painters alongside Rubens and Van Dyck. He is known for his robust, earthy style and large-scale religious and genre scenes, such as 'As the Old Sang, So Pipe the Young', a highlight of the museum's 17th-century gallery.
