Ruth Buchanan is a contemporary New Zealand artist of Te Āti Awa and Taranaki descent. Her work explores the relationship between the body, language, power, and the archive, often engaging with institutional infrastructures. She was awarded the Walters Prize in 2018 and currently serves as the Director of Artspace Aotearoa in Auckland.
