A prominent member of the De Stijl movement, Rietveld is world-renowned for his innovative approach to spatial design. His most famous works include the Red and Blue Chair (1918) and the Rietveld Schröder House (1924) in Utrecht, which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. His extensive archive is a core component of the National Collection managed by the Nieuwe Instituut.
