Ata Kandó was a Hungarian-born Dutch photographer noted for her socially engaged work. She documented Hungarian refugees fleeing the 1956 revolution and traveled to the Amazon to raise awareness of the plight of indigenous tribes. She also worked as a fashion photographer and teacher.
