DESCRIPTION

Terry Atkinson is an English artist and art theorist. He was a founder-member of the group Fine-Artz (1963) and a co-founder of the influential conceptual art collective Art & Language (1968–1974). Following his departure from the group in 1974, Atkinson's practice shifted toward a more theoretical and critical individual approach, often focusing on political themes such as the First World War, nuclear weapons, and the institutions of art. He was nominated for the Turner Prize in 1985.
