DESCRIPTION
Based in Tel Aviv, Ruti De Vries creates an enigmatic mythology in her work, drawing from ancient, indigenous, and outsider art. Her practice involves obsessive laboring with cheap materials to explore issues of gender, labor, and creative hierarchies. She holds an MFA from Bezalel Academy of Art and Design and was a recipient of the 2016 Israeli Ministry of Culture Young Artist Prize.
