Jankel Adler was a Polish-Jewish avant-garde painter and printmaker. He was a co-founder of the Yung-yidish group and was deeply influenced by Paul Klee during his time in Düsseldorf. His work was declared 'degenerate' by the Nazis, leading him to flee to France and eventually settle in Britain.
