Margarete Schütte-Lihotzky was a pioneer in social housing and the first female architect in Austria. She is best known for designing the 'Frankfurter Küche' (Frankfurt Kitchen) in 1926, the prototype of the modern fitted kitchen, which is represented in the MK&G collection.
