Dance and Costume Design
Lavinia Schulz was an expressionist dancer and artist who, along with her partner Walter Holdt, created avant-garde full-body masks and dance costumes in the 1920s. Their tragic story ended in 1924, but their distinctive costumes were rediscovered in the attic of the Museum für Kunst und Gewerbe Hamburg in 1988 and are now considered key highlights of the collection.
